02 — Keeping You Trading

Built around your business

The main difference between commercial and domestic work is disruption — here’s how we manage it.

  1. Out-of-hours & weekend working

Evening, overnight and weekend working, so you don’t lose trading days.

  2. Phased delivery

Work broken into stages so parts of your premises can stay open throughout.

  3. Single point of contact

One project manager from start to finish — no chasing different tradespeople.

  4. Lease & landlord rules

Working hours, noise limits and landlord approvals factored into the programme from day one.

03 — Compliance

CDM, Building Regs and fire safety, handled

Commercial building work comes with legal duties for you as the client. We make sure they’re met and explain them in plain English.

CDM Regulations 2015

  • Clear explanation of your duties as the client
  • A construction phase plan before work starts
  • HSE notification (F10) when a project is large enough to need one
  • Safe site set-up, segregation and hoarding

Building Regs, fire & access

  • Building Regulations applications and inspections
  • Structural calculations from a qualified engineer
  • Fire safety and means of escape kept in place during works
  • Accessibility standards built into the design

05 — Questions

Common questions

What businesses ask us before starting a commercial project.

Can’t see your question?01889 725765Happy to talk it through — no obligation.
Can you work around our trading hours?

Yes — evening, overnight and weekend working is common on retail and hospitality projects, so you don’t lose trading days.

Do you handle landlord approvals and lease requirements?

Yes, where needed — many commercial leases have specific rules on working hours, noise and alterations, and we factor these into the programme from the outset.

Can you manage the whole project, including design?

Yes — from initial concept and structural input through to final fit-out, with a single project manager coordinating the whole job.

Do you work with businesses outside the Midlands?

We’re based in Uttoxeter and cover Staffordshire, Stoke, Derby, Nottingham and Leicester, but we travel further afield for the right commercial project — just ask.

Do we have duties under CDM as the client?

Yes. Under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, commercial clients must make sure the project is properly planned and managed, with the right people appointed. We explain exactly what that means for your project and handle the paperwork with you.
